Proven Winners adds LCN Selection Trees to Their Brand!

Proven Winners and Maria Zampini, UpShoot, is working to bring a line of trees to the brand for 2019.  Our LCN Selections have been chosen to kick start the program. Proven Winners has chosen selected tree genetics that are already in production and available through bare root liner growers. These genetics are listed below under ‘initial existing genetics.

The new Proven Winners ColorChoice ornamental tree program will begin with six superior selections that fit the Proven Winners standards of beauty and performance. Chosen for their landscape worthiness, the seven varieties were selected for good scale, form and multi-season interest. The new ornamental tree program is geared toward garden centers, homeowners and residential landscapers.

“We will continue to grow a wide selection of varieties that offer different color, habit, features, seasonality and adaptability to different sites – all that are worthy of the Proven Winners brand,” says Zampini. “Proven Winners already has a great network of growers, but any tree grower can participate by purchasing liners. We are working with some excellent bare root liner producers and propagators.”

Interested in becoming a licensed grower?

To streamline the process, Spring Meadow Nursery will utilize one license for both shrubs and trees. If you are already a licensed Proven Winners® ColorChoice® Shrub grower, simply contact your Spring Meadow Nursery licensing representative to ask about adding trees to your existing agreement. If you are not licensed grower, Maria Zampini can share a sample agreement for your review and then provide your information to the SMN licensing department for execution.

LCN Selections is a patented and trademarked division of Lake County Nursery. LCN Selections began in 1977 with Jim Zampini’s first selection, Malus Weeping Candied Apple TM, and has grown to over 125 new and exciting selections.

The criteria for any of our LCN Selections is the plants have four seasons of beauty, needs little or no maintenance to retain form and beauty, to be disease and insect resistant, and to be a reliable performer in the landscape.

LCN Selections can be purchased in landscape and garden center size from Lake County Nursery. We also have a network of Licensed Growers that offer finished and liner sizes of our LCN SELECTIONS across the United States, Canada, Europe and Australia.
